Essay on the chart of France
The astrological chart of some being is based on the hypothesis that the first breath fixes an imprint conditioning the whole following cycle. In being born, the baby lets out a cry, the problem is to notice the time. For a country, how can one find the birth time? By a treatise, by the coronation of a king, by a new constitution? Yet the origin goes back sometimes to millenia, the uncertainty is then great. How can one cast the chart of France? On which basis? The kingship died in 1789, seemingly, since the seize of La Bastille is celebrated since then. However, it is the 4th of August that the assembly decided, in an outstanding frenesy, to abolish the privileges. And it is this date that seems to mark the begining of a new Regime. We'll see that this date is confirmed by some coincidences and by the nation caracter.
Why dating the chart of France on the night of the 4th of August 1789? It was the night of the abolishment of privileges, hence the end of feodality as wrote the great historian Michelet, the end of the Old Regime hence the birth of the new one.
This date of the 4th of August 1789 has the advantage to be historically described, as the coronation of Clovis sends back to a distant and fuzzy period.
The sky is discovered at the East, the rising direction points out the new possibilities. Saturn, planet of programming and social frame, rose that evening, at 20h50 or 8.50 pm. One may thus think that the new social order was decided from that time on. Alice A. Bailey dedicated more lines to France than to any other country. Well, she was british and lived in the USA, why give so much importance to this nation? Here is an extract.

The broad vision is manifest in the universal declaration of human and citizen rights, in the republican motto Liberty, Equality, Fraternity. This vision appears too in the civil Code of 1801, that Napoleon exported, imposed in a great part of Europe. The Commune of Paris in 1871 had also a world impact, as it is witnessed by the song the Internationale, a song taken over by the communists in 1917. The whole scientific approach of Lavoisier, Gay-Lussac, Buffon, Pasteur, and more recently, is an offering of knowledge to the world, that is related to the Piscean influence. In a chart, one may confirm the birth time by transits or progressions on an angle of the chart, the Descendant or the Midheaven; these two angles are the most notable in the outer life. Uranus was at the Descendant (in 22° Virgo) the 3rd of May 1968. The opposition to Saturn underlines the lucidity on the social frame and the questionning of this pattern; the passage at the Descendant gives account of the communicaiton that took over then all the social layers.
The progressed moon is passing on the Descendant in 1801, it is the year of the Concordat, an agreement with the Papacy, and this year too, Santo Domingo earned its autonomy, Toussaint Laverdure put an end to slavery. The progressed moon passed on the Midheaven (26° Sagittarius) in 1814, end of the Empire.
The progressed sun passed on the Descendant in 1830 and on the Rising in 1958. If this year is the year of a new consitution (conjunction to Saturn); one knows less that the general De Gaulle was brought to the power the army and the "pieds noirs" who refused to negotiate with the algerian FLN, that which Pierre Pflimlin envisioned, a possibility in line with the republican motto and which could be related to the Ascendant. 1958 marks too the institution of the european community, a germ of opening. ...
A chart shows strengths, weakenesses and possibilities to move on. As a natural clock, it points also periods when some activities, some functions are stimulated. One may thus understand; to act on the becoming of a country is another task. Rising PIsces invites to turn toward the ocean of existence for the sake of all; the moon - almost full - invites to catch the inspiration, then to pour it out; the North node incites to go deep into things and not to be content with shining. That each citizen can do it.
A chart shows the imprint of the sky when a cycle begins; it is a signatrure, a landmark that follows this being in its evolution. As a mandala, this chart presents some recognizable caracter features and some possibilities; among them some have already been exploited and others not yet. The future is open as it opened that night of the 4th of August 1789, at 20h50 with a program (Saturn), as a promise to hold, the program of the “Lumières”, the Enlightenment.
